NFL Draft 2025

NFL draft 2025

The NFL draft features 257 players hearing their names called in three days. The first round takes place Thursday night (8 p.m. ET), followed by rounds 2-3 on Friday (7 p.m. ET) and rounds 4-7 on Saturday (noon ET).

Teams have 10 minutes to make their picks, which start at the top of the round. After making their selection, the team’s first runner will radio the player’s name to an NFL Player Personnel representative, who inputs the selection into a database and notifies all clubs of the pick. The runner then walks the card to the head table, where it’s given to Ken Fiore, vice president of player personnel for the NFL. Fiore reviews the player’s name for accuracy, then shares it with the broadcasters and any other league or team representatives so they can announce the pick on TV and radio.

Why they picked him: The Jets want to run the ball, and McMillan fits their scheme well. He’s an elite rusher in college and should be able to contribute right away.

The 49ers have big needs on the defensive front after releasing ends Leonard Floyd and Javon Hargrave and trading linebacker Maliek Collins. Campbell is a strong run defender who can also get to the quarterback. He racked up 117 tackles last season and has the size to play either guard or tackle in the NFL.
